How To Create An About Us Page In Shopify
In this video I show you step by step how to create an about us page in Shopify. A very simple setup with a few quality photos is all you need to get started. You can customize later but be sure to have something setup from the beginning.
**Transcript** 0:01 Hey there, it's Brandon, and welcome to this video on how to create an about us page in Shopify. Now in a previous video that I'll link above here, I talked about the contact us page. Now it is really simple to do, and so is the about us page. However, there are some opportunities to do some additional customization with the about us page. So let's get right into it, and let's look at how to create an about us page. So here we are on our Shopify admin screen along our left hand side menu, we're going to go ahead and click online store. And then we're going to click pages. Up on the top right, let's go ahead and click add a page. Now for the contact us page, there was a theme template that was located in here, you can see right here it says contact. But there isn't one for the about us page, at least not with this theme. If you're working on a paid or premium theme, they may have additional templates included in there, but we're just working on the basic default theme that comes with Shopify. So we can easily create an about us page right here in this screen. So right here on the title, let's go ahead and write about us. That's the standard that people put for about us. But you could change that who we are or what we're about, you can personalise that, however you want to fit within your personality of your business. And then right below that is the content block. And here's where you're going to put the majority of your information. So you might be thinking, What should I put in an about us page? Well, I think it's important for you to share something about you personally, or your organisation. In addition, maybe your vision, your mission, or some of your objective objectives that you're trying to accomplish. As a business, it's important to think about who your ideal customer is, and to write to them, and to really share that information so they can make that connection. So let's go ahead by putting in some basic content into this content section for the about us page. So there you go, there's some basic texts that we've added to the content section of the about us page. In addition to the content, I think it's a great idea to add some quality photos in your about us page. So I went ahead and included two images, referencing the founders of the organisation. Another image that's just kind of a fill in that talks, maybe you could put talking about your mission or the goals that you have for your organisation, and definitely if you have a team, especially if they are, you know, working within the organisation itself, if you can share a team photo, all of these things really help people connect with you and your organisation, you would be surprised at the number of people who look at the about us page. Now that we've added these items in go ahead and click Save. And that's it, you've created your about us page. Now, in order for your about us page and your Contact Us page to be to be visible on your website, you're going to need to add them to either the main menu, the footer menu or both menus so that people can see them and I'm going to show you that in the next couple of videos.
