I'm your host, Brandon Hughes. Welcome back everyone. We're all faced with this delusion of data from day to day. It's coming in from all different sources, social media, different platforms, websites, just everywhere. Well, the tool I want to share with you today is going to help you pull that data in and present it in a beautiful, engaging and dynamic way to your clients, to the people that you work with and really move you heads and shoulders above the others that are grabbing this data and sharing it. The tools that I'm talking about is Google data studio. You may have heard of it. Maybe you use it if you haven't. Okay, cool. Listen. All right. Google data studio. So before we really get into what it is and what you can do with it, I want to just kind of give you a heads up and let you know. This is a an advanced tool. It's pretty heavy with the data, with the charting, with the pulling in of information. So if you're not that type of person who really wants to crunch a, I still think you should be aware of it because maybe you want to see what is available and what can be done with this reporting out of, out of Google data studio. And then you'll know if you want to outsource that. Maybe have somebody do it for you. I don't do that. I would send it out myself, but when you see what can be done and how this information can be presented in a dynamic way, it's some really cool stuff and I think you should, should know about it. So basically what Google data studio is, is it gives you everything you need to get all of your clients and your, and your could be an outside client, could be your boss, it could be a competitor. Bring that data in, in, in a way that's easy to understand. A lot of visualization, a lot of dynamic ability, a lot of real time data, a lot of updating. It's a great way to pull it in and present it. We've all at one time, at least I know I have have gone into, you know, Google analytics and the reports in there are amazing and the data is, is huge. And I share that with my clients and I encourage them to take the time to learn about Google analytics because there's so much information in there and it's so valuable. However, the problem with Google analytics is there's so much information in there and it's just hard to digest. So if you are a marketer and you are just looking at rows and rows, numbers and forms, you know, that's not the way to present information. So Google data studio is kind of that answer to bring this information in and pull it into one place and utilize visualization and dynamic abilities to share that data in a better way with those that need to look at it. So the first thing when you go in into there, you're gonna see that there are some, a whole bunch of places that you can pull in data. This is a Google product, however you can go further than Google itself. So yes, you can pull in information from Google analytics, Google ads, Google sheets. In fact, if you're importing custom data into Google sheets, you can use that. So if, if there's not a connection for a data source available on the backend of Google data studio, if you can bring that information into Google sheets, then you could use that in your reporting. There's a whole list. They have a whole bunch of data sources. So I'm going to share with you a bunch of them here. You're probably familiar if you do any marketing, you do any paper click Google ads and beyond. So, you know, Google ads manager, you can pull data in from their search ads. Obviously YouTube, it's owned by Google, you can pull that analytics in. So it's really nice. So instead of having those split over multiple reports, you can kind of pull that in and present it all in one in one area. Now they have a whole bunch of partner connections. These are outside of Google. So you've got, you know, custom Jaison, CSV, XML type reports. If you're a heavy data cruncher, you know exactly what that is. You can get into Adobe analytics Amazon ads. If you're selling on Amazon, you can pull that information in a Asana connector. If you're using that for you know, running some of your projects Bing. So that's outside of Google's network. You can bring in Bing ad information as well. There's call tracking, it's a bunch of Chrome things in here. If you use a newsletter, a constant contact there and there I do a lot on Shopify and I know there's some connections on the backend with Shopify to do stuff like that. Then have Facebook ads. So you can see it's more than just looking at Google analytic numbers. You can pull in information from all these different platforms and use it in the reporting that you do. And then of course the reporting is just presented a lot nicer than just a whole bunch of numbers can get into Instagram ads. It goes on and on. There's a whole bunch of data sources that you can connect. And bring it in so that you can create this really amazing report. I don't know if I've mentioned, but this is all free. I've always tried to find the free stuff. It's just the way I am. This used to be on another platform and so I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong on this. It was something three 60 and it costs a lot of money, but now it's free and it's par. It's kind of connected with Google as a marketing platform. So you can create these customized reports for your clients, pull them, pull that information in from all of those connected platforms and really present a robust type of report to them. The report itself is customizable. Like you wouldn't believe if your customer has certain brand colors, you can go in and edit that. You can put nice images in there. It's drag and drop. You can just customize it to no end. So you really present in a wonderful way to your customers. All of this information and like any other Google product, if you use Google docs or Google sheets in the past, the other benefit of it is that it's shareable with permission levels and this becomes really interesting particularly with reports and, and here's why. If you're pulling in data and there and it's connected, that data can update in real time. So when you have a customer or a client at once, access to that report, as soon as you give them that permission and they have access, they can go in and look at it and it will update in real time. Now check this out. In addition to that, if you are putting in graphs, bar graphs, line graphs, bar charts, the graphs are interactive so they can go in and hover over something and see the data or click through it. If you want to put filters on there, you can put the filters. Now, you might spend some time with your client, maybe the first time or second time that they're looking at that, but after that the client can go in and filter that data on their own whenever they want. So it's potentially one, a huge time saver for yourself because now the customer can go in and look at that data whenever they want in any time zone and filter it however their needs want at that particular time. Instead of having to run additional reports or telling them that you can't do it, or they want to see it in this view, or they want to see it in that view, you've now given them access to it and they can look at it whenever they want. So that's a really cool feature and I think it's just a it's a great way to share a document without having to send it out. Every month did I mention this is free. This is a free tool. Pull in data from all these different data sources. Okay. Create a customizable report with wonderful sharing and permission levels. It's interactive and it's customized to their brand. You can put your brand on there, so it becomes almost a marketing piece. I think this is an amazing tool. It's a little heavy. It's a little heavy. I'm a startup. I think it takes a little while. I have found quite a few YouTube videos out there. There are tough ones to watch, but if this is your thing, if you like data and you like sharing it in a professional way, definitely check out Google data studio.
