I hope you enjoyed that last episode on the I know talking about backing data up is probably as boring as saving your tax paperwork, but it's definitely something that needs to be done and we all know it needs to be done well. Today I want to talk to you about something that's a little bit more exciting and this is about working with influencers on Instagram. If you sell a product or a SAS software as a service or you just need somebody to help boost your reach or your engagement, you know that one way of doing that is connecting with an influencer on Instagram and helping them amplify your voice through their reach.

The question is how do you do that? Well, today I'm going to talk to you about a tool that you can that's G, E, T, C, a, R, R O. That will help you do that. Let's take a look. Okay, so the product itself is Carol, C, a R R O, but the website is get and basically what this tool does at this platform is it helps you find influencers that already like your brand so that you can reach out to them. Now, I try to say the good stuff to the end, but I'll tell you right now that this platform, this tool is free and that doesn't mean the whole process will be, I'm sure once you reach out and connect with an Instagram influencer, they're going to ask for some sort of payment product, a swap or some kind of trade. You may get lucky and get it for free, but just the connection and knowing who to reach out to and who is actually involved in the Instagram community, who is an actual influencer of, of a similar or your existing product or service.

That's kind of the hard part. Dot. That was, that's what's can be tricky. Um, working with influencers, period. I mean, where do you start? Right? You do just send them a text or, or, or an email or like their photo. How do you go about through that process? So that's what Carroll does is it helps you connect with them. So what are the first things that you'll do with this is you'll connect your data sources. So this may be coming from your MailChimp newsletter or if you use Clavio or if you have a Shopify store, it'll data in from their Facebook or Instagram. It'll pull these people in and it presents a report to you and it helps you identify who the influencers are based on some of that data that it's, uh, that it's grabbing once you know who these influencers are. So let's use as an example.

You sell handmade bags or purses and you identify somebody out there who is already liking your posts on your email list, uh, involved with your store, maybe has purchased a product from you, but you didn't even know that this person has a significant following and is engaged with your product and that they're an influencer. So they're already there with you, they've already engaged with you. Now you want to reach out and you want to basically collaborate with them and say, Hey, you know, do you want to be paid for this or would you like to receive our newest product? When it comes out? It allows you to start the conversation, at least from a warm lead perspective. Hey, you know, you're on my email list. You get my newsletter already. You've been to my Shopify store, you like my Shopify page. Hey, thanks for liking my recent Instagram posts or my recent Facebook posts.

I'd like to work with you. I'd like to collaborate with you and do more things. So that's what get helps you do. Identify those people, pull that information in, identify who they are, and then begin our process, um, to collaborate. Did I mention that it's free? Yeah, this thing is free. I was a little bit skeptical about that at first. You know, the Instagram influencer might want to, you know, charge you for that and you'll have to figure that out on your own. Um, so the next thing that popped in my head was, well, if this is free, but I'm sharing my, you know, all this data, uh, with Carol, maybe that's what they're, maybe that's what they're getting to start spamming my guys. Um, you know, sell ad space, et cetera, et cetera. Uh, they're kind of onto that and they know that that is an issue.

So when you go to the, to the website, they address that in a couple of, a couple of spots about how they're treating your data, is it secure, et cetera, et cetera. Uh, so, uh, definitely w if you get a chance to go to the website and you can read a little bit more about your data and how secure it is. So I mentioned, uh, the can pull information in from Facebook, from Instagram, uh, mail champ Clavio they also a Shopify of course, Shopify plus, but they also can integrate or the platforms, uh, would be big commerce, Magento, woo commerce, and a couple of other ones and some customization. So here's the next thing that comes up. Okay. I'm semi tech savvy. No problem. I can, I can do this. Um, maybe you just focus on making your designer handbags and you're not tech savvy.

They have a nice page on here or the whole bunch of partners, people that they've vetted that they can connect you with who can get in there and help you complete the process. I thought that was nice. I think every tech tool, SAS operator out there needs to have this. They need to vet the partners for us. I, I hate when they say, well, you could just go to Upwork or go to Fiverr. It's a crap shoot out there. You don't know who you're going to get. So that's really nice. I really appreciate that. They vetted, uh, some people out there. For those of you who want to jump in with two feet and do it on your own, they have a little, what they call a learning hub. You can get in there and it'll talk to you about connecting your data sources, how to choose the right influencers, creating little invite messages and just going through that, going through that whole process.

Uh, they also have, uh, some, some KPIs. So you can look at, you know, the influencer and the marketing and how that's working and if it's a value to you and whether to continue on so that, uh, you know, that learning hub is, is definitely something for those of you who want to do it yourself. They have a partner section so you can reach out to people if you want them to help you with that process. I also, uh, can get in there if you're working on a Shopify platform or Shopify plus, I'd be happy to work with you to help you on that. The other platforms, as much as I'd love to have your business, it's not just not a strength of mine, but Shopify, Shopify plus MailChimp can definitely do that. So I really think that as marketers, as as we're looking at the digital marketing space and we have products and we want to reach people out there, not only do we know that Instagram is reaching people and we know that there are certain people have who have a significant following.

A lot of times we know all that, but then it's like, well, where do I get started? How do I find that person and who's who can help me make that introduction? Get I think it's a cool tool for a lot of people in multiple different businesses, whether it's e-commerce, SAS, other type of professional services. It's a wonderful way to get into the Instagram influencer space and see if it works for you or if it has in the past, maybe to take it up another notch and go beyond.
